Reclaiming Lives, Restoring Futures

thrift background

In Spokane, more than 2,300 people are living without stable housing, and over half are struggling with addiction or untreated mental illness. Behind every statistic is a story of hardship—but also a chance for transformation.

At the Reclaim Project, our mission is simple yet profound: to provide hope, stability, and recovery pathways for men overcoming addiction, homelessness, and incarceration.

Why We Exist

Addiction doesn’t just destroy bodies—it fractures families, derails futures, and traps men in cycles of relapse, recidivism, and despair. Too often, men leaving treatment or incarceration return to environments where sobriety feels impossible. Without housing, employment, and a supportive community, even the strongest desire to recover can fade.

That’s where Reclaim steps in.

The Three Pillars of Recovery

Our holistic approach is built on what we call the Three Pillars of Recovery—a framework designed to address the full spectrum of what men need to rebuild their lives:

Physical Stability – Through Pura Vida sober living homes, we provide safe, structured, and drug-free housing. Here, men can focus on healing without the chaos of the streets.
Mental & Emotional Growth – Through Revival General Contracting and our social enterprises, men gain employment, job skills, and confidence—turning recovery into a foundation for independence.
Spiritual & Community Connection – Through mentorship, workshops, recovery groups, and holistic practices like yoga and meditation, men rediscover identity, purpose, and belonging.

These pillars don’t stand alone—they strengthen one another. Housing creates safety. Work builds confidence. Community provides meaning. Together, they form a powerful ecosystem of recovery.

Real Impact in Spokane

Men who enter structured sober living are far more likely to sustain long-term sobriety, hold steady employment, and build stable lives. At Reclaim, we’ve seen firsthand how pairing housing with meaningful work creates lasting change. Our employment-based programs don’t just provide a paycheck—they restore dignity, responsibility, and purpose. In fact, men who participate are over 20% less likely to reoffend than those who do not.

But the impact doesn’t stop with the individual. Every man who reclaims his life strengthens more than just himself. He strengthens his family. He stabilizes his workplace. He contributes to safer, healthier neighborhoods across Spokane.

Our founder, Shawn Kingsbury—a TEDx speaker who has lived the struggle and found the way forward—reminds us often: “Every addiction is uniquely woven, and so every addiction has to be uniquely unwoven.” This belief guides everything we do. At Reclaim, recovery is not a one-size-fits-all solution. It is a personal journey—one that ripples outward, transforming not just men, but entire communities.

More Than a Mission—A Movement

Reclaim Project Recovery is more than a program—it’s a movement rooted in Spokane’s belief that no life is beyond repair. By uniting housing, work, and community, we are transforming despair into resilience, relapse into recovery, and brokenness into hope.

Our mission is not only to reclaim lives—but to restore futures.

In the weeks ahead, this blog will share success stories, recovery insights, and community impact from inside the Reclaim Project. We invite you to walk alongside us as we build a stronger Spokane—one life at a time.
